Description
A refreshing Mexican beverage made with fresh fruit, water, and lime juice.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 2 cups fresh fruit (such as watermelon, cantaloupe, or pineapple), diced
- 1/4 cup sugar (adjust based on fruit sweetness)
- 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the diced fruit and 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove pulp, pressing down with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.
- Add the remaining 2 cups of water, sugar, and lime juice to the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity by adding more sugar or lime juice if desired.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- For a sparkling version, substitute half of the water with sparkling water.
- Experiment with different fruits or combinations, such as mango and lime or strawberry and basil, for unique flavors.
