Description

A refreshing Mexican beverage made with fresh fruit, water, and lime juice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups fresh fruit (such as watermelon, cantaloupe, or pineapple), diced
  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust based on fruit sweetness)
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the diced fruit and 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove pulp, pressing down with a spoon to extract as much liquid as possible.
  3. Add the remaining 2 cups of water, sugar, and lime juice to the pitcher. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity by adding more sugar or lime juice if desired.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, substitute half of the water with sparkling water.
  • Experiment with different fruits or combinations, such as mango and lime or strawberry and basil, for unique flavors.
