Description
A flavorful Thai dish featuring marinated flank steak grilled to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound flank steak
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create a marinade.
- Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
- Brush the grill with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
- Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain into thin strips.
- Serve the beef garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more crushed red pepper flakes or serve with a spicy dipping sauce.
- Try using sirloin or ribeye steak instead of flank steak for a different flavor and texture.
