Description

A flavorful Thai dish featuring marinated flank steak grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create a marinade.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  4. Brush the grill with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
  5. Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing against the grain into thin strips.
  6. Serve the beef garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more crushed red pepper flakes or serve with a spicy dipping sauce.
  • Try using sirloin or ribeye steak instead of flank steak for a different flavor and texture.
