Description

Spicy Sichuan Tofu Crunch Wraps that Ignite Your Tastebuds!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block (14 ounces) firm tofu, drained and pressed
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup crunchy wonton strips
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl. Add vegetable oil, soy sauce, chili paste, garlic powder, ginger powder, and sesame oil. Toss to coat the tofu evenly.
  3. Spread the tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  4. While the tofu is baking, prepare the wrap fillings. In a large bowl, combine shredded carrots, chopped green onions, and shredded lettuce.
  5. Once the tofu is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  6. To assemble the wraps, lay a tortilla flat and add a generous portion of the vegetable mixture, followed by a layer of baked tofu and a handful of crunchy wonton strips. If desired, sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
  7. Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a wrap. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and fillings.
  8. Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the wraps.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
  • Substitute the tofu with cooked chicken or shrimp for a different protein option.
