Spicy Sichuan Tofu Crunch Wraps that Ignite Your Tastebuds!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block (14 ounces) firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili paste (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup chopped green onions
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1/2 cup crunchy wonton strips
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and place them in a mixing bowl. Add vegetable oil, soy sauce, chili paste, garlic powder, ginger powder, and sesame oil. Toss to coat the tofu evenly.
- Spread the tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- While the tofu is baking, prepare the wrap fillings. In a large bowl, combine shredded carrots, chopped green onions, and shredded lettuce.
- Once the tofu is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly.
- To assemble the wraps, lay a tortilla flat and add a generous portion of the vegetable mixture, followed by a layer of baked tofu and a handful of crunchy wonton strips. If desired, sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to create a wrap. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and fillings.
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the wraps.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
- Substitute the tofu with cooked chicken or shrimp for a different protein option.
