Description
A healthy twist on fries using roasted turnips served with a spicy aioli.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large turnips, peeled and cut into fry shapes (about 2 cups)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Spicy Aioli:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, toss the turnip fries with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Spread the turnip fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the fries are roasting, prepare the spicy aioli. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sriracha, lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt. Mix well until smooth.
- Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with the spicy aioli on the side for dipping.
Notes
- For a sweeter flavor, try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon to the turnip fries before roasting.
- If you prefer a creamier aioli, substitute Greek yogurt for half of the mayonnaise.
