Description
A hearty and cheesy casserole inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak, perfect for a comforting dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, mushrooms, and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the vegetables soften, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce, then pour in the beef broth and let it simmer gently.
- While the beef mixture simmers, prepare the egg noodles according to the package directions until al dente, then drain.
- Combine the cooked noodles with the beef and vegetable mixture in the skillet, mixing well.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Top with an even layer of provolone, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For an extra kick, consider adding sliced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- For a lighter option, swap ground beef for turkey or chicken and use low-fat cheese.
