Description

A delightful and luxurious dish featuring avocados stuffed with a creamy lobster thermidor filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 pound cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop out a small amount of the flesh to create a larger cavity for the filling. Set the avocado halves aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté the onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  4. Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced by half.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the chopped lobster meat and half of the Gruyère cheese to the skillet, mixing well until the cheese melts and everything is heated through.
  7. Spoon the lobster mixture into the avocado halves and place them in a baking dish.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining Gruyère cheese on top of the stuffed avocados.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce to the lobster mixture.
  • Substitute the lobster with shrimp or crab for a different seafood flavor.
