Description
Korean Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps are a flavorful and healthy dish featuring marinated beef wrapped in fresh lettuce leaves.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup sliced cucumbers
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 head of butter or romaine lettuce, leaves separated
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and gochujang.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and add it to the skillet.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
- To assemble the wraps, take a lettuce leaf and add a few pieces of cooked bulgogi, then top with shredded carrots, sliced cucumbers, and chopped green onions.
- Roll the lettuce leaf around the filling and enjoy.
Notes
- For added crunch, consider adding sliced radishes or chopped peanuts as a topping.
- If you prefer a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with marinated tofu or mushrooms.
