Description

Korean Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps are a flavorful and healthy dish featuring marinated beef wrapped in fresh lettuce leaves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup sliced cucumbers
  • 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 head of butter or romaine lettuce, leaves separated

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and gochujang.
  2. Add the sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the beef from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and add it to the skillet.
  5. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently, until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  6. To assemble the wraps, take a lettuce leaf and add a few pieces of cooked bulgogi, then top with shredded carrots, sliced cucumbers, and chopped green onions.
  7. Roll the lettuce leaf around the filling and enjoy.

Notes

  • For added crunch, consider adding sliced radishes or chopped peanuts as a topping.
  • If you prefer a vegetarian option, substitute the beef with marinated tofu or mushrooms.
