Description
Keto Turkish Manti with Garlic Yogurt Sauce is a delicious low-carb version of traditional Turkish dumplings, filled with seasoned meat and served with a creamy garlic yogurt sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup water (adjust as needed)
- 1 pound ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Mix the almond flour, egg, salt, and baking powder in a mixing bowl.
- Slowly incorporate water until the mixture forms a cohesive dough.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth, then cover it with a cloth and let it rest for half an hour.
- While the dough is resting, heat a skillet over medium heat and sauté the finely chopped onion until soft and translucent.
- Add the ground beef or lamb along with garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, and salt. Cook until the meat is fully browned, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- After the dough has rested, roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut the rolled dough into 2-inch squares.
- Place a small amount of the cooled meat mixture in the center of each square.
- Fold the corners of the dough over the filling, creating a dumpling shape, and pinch the edges to seal tightly.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil.
- Gently add the dumplings to the boiling water and cook for approximately 5-7 minutes, or until they rise to the top.
- Use a slotted spoon to carefully remove them from the water and let them drain.
- In a separate bowl, combine the Greek yogurt with the minced garlic and a pinch of salt, mixing well.
- In a small pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers, then drizzle it over the drained dumplings.
- Serve the dumplings topped with the creamy garlic sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- Adjust the water in the dough as needed for consistency.
- Ensure the dumplings are sealed tightly to prevent filling from leaking during cooking.
- Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground lamb or a mix of both.
