- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 large lettuce leaves (for wrapping)
- 1/2 cup sour cream (for dipping)
- 1/4 cup salsa (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or chicken until fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spices are fragrant.
- Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.
- Lay out a lettuce leaf and spoon about 2-3 tablespoons of the meat mixture onto the center. Roll the leaf tightly around the filling to create a taquito shape.
- Place the rolled taquitos seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are crispy.
- Serve warm with sour cream and salsa for dipping.
