Ingredients

  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup erythritol or your preferred keto-friendly sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the balsamic vinegar, ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the erythritol. Stir until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  4. Simmer the mixture for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and reduces by about half.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in the olive oil for added richness.
  6. Allow the glaze to cool slightly before using. It will thicken more as it cools.
  7. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the glaze while it simmers.
