Description

Keto Labneh Cheese Balls with Olive Oil & Herbs delightfully transform your snacking!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup high-quality olive oil
  • Chopped fresh herbs for decoration (like cilantro or chives)

Instructions

  1. Begin by mixing the Greek yogurt, sea salt, onion powder, dried basil, dried rosemary, and chili flakes (if desired) in a large bowl until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  2. Set up a fine mesh sieve or colander lined with a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth, positioned over a bowl to catch the excess liquid.
  3. Transfer the yogurt blend into the prepared sieve, folding the cloth over the top to cover it. Allow it to drain in the refrigerator for a minimum of 12 hours, or overnight for a firmer texture.
  4. Once the draining process is complete, gently unwrap the cheese from the cloth and shape it into small spheres, roughly one inch in size.
  5. In a shallow bowl, pour the olive oil and carefully place the cheese balls inside. Turn them around to ensure they are thoroughly coated in the oil.
  6. Garnish the cheese bites with a sprinkle of fresh herbs for an added burst of flavor and visual appeal.
  7. Enjoy them right away or store in a sealed container in the fridge for up to a week.

Notes

  • Experiment with different herbs such as tarragon or dill for unique flavor profiles.
  • Pair with crunchy vegetables or low-carb crackers for an exquisite appetizer experience.
