Ingredients

  • 1 pound bratwurst sausages
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, well-drained
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the bratwurst sausages and cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally until golden-brown.
  3. Transfer the sausages to a plate and keep warm.
  4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté for approximately 5 minutes until translucent and tender.

  9. Slice the bratwurst into bite-sized pieces and return them to the skillet, folding them into the sauerkraut mixture.
  10. Allow everything to warm together for another 2 minutes.
  11. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.
