Description

A gourmet delight featuring kangaroo steaks coated with a crunchy macadamia crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 kangaroo steaks (about 8 ounces each)
  • 1 cup macadamia nuts, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the chopped macadamia nuts, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Brush each kangaroo steak with olive oil and spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on one side.
  4. Press the mustard side of each steak into the macadamia mixture, ensuring an even coating.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little olive oil. Sear the crusted side of each steak for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Transfer the seared steaks to a baking sheet, crust side up, and bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the macadamia crust mixture.
  • Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
