Ingredients
Scale
- 2 kangaroo steaks (about 8 ounces each)
- 1 cup macadamia nuts, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a bowl, combine the chopped macadamia nuts, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Brush each kangaroo steak with olive oil and spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on one side.
- Press the mustard side of each steak into the macadamia mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little olive oil. Sear the crusted side of each steak for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
- Transfer the seared steaks to a baking sheet, crust side up, and bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the macadamia crust mixture.
- Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
