Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary (or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary)
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F.
- Grease a baking sheet or a 9×13-inch pan with olive oil.
- Punch down the risen dough and transfer it to the prepared pan. Stretch it out to fit the pan, dimpling the surface with your fingers.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top, sprinkle with rosemary and coarse sea salt.
- Let the dough rest for another 20-30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For a garlic-infused version, add 2-3 minced garlic cloves to the dough during mixing.
- Try adding toppings like sliced olives, sun-dried tomatoes, or caramelized onions before baking for extra flavor.
