Description

A creamy and delightful dessert that combines the tropical flavors of coconut with the earthy notes of matcha green tea.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder
  • 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for about 5 minutes to bloom.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the coconut milk, heavy cream, sugar, matcha powder, and a pinch of salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar and matcha are fully dissolved, but do not let it boil.
  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or ramekins. Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  5. Once cooled, cover each cup with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
  6. To serve, gently run a knife around the edges of the panna cotta and invert onto a plate, or serve directly in the cups.

Notes

  • For a tropical twist, add shredded coconut on top before serving.
  • Substitute almond milk for coconut milk for a different flavor profile.
