- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F.
- Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour, tapping out the excess.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined and slightly frothy.
- Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, stirring continuously until fully incorporated.
- Sift in the flour and cayenne pepper, folding gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Place them on a baking sheet for easier handling.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 1 minute.
- Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate and gently lift to release the cake.
- Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the cayenne pepper to 1/2 teaspoon.
- For a richer flavor, substitute dark chocolate chips for semi-sweet.
- You can also add a pinch of cinnamon for an extra layer of warmth.
