Description

Chili Chocolate Bark is a spicy sweet treat that combines rich dark chocolate with a kick of cayenne pepper and warm spices.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa), chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1/4 cup dried cherries or cranberries (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Once melted, stir in the cayenne pepper, ground cinnamon, sea salt, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped nuts and dried cherries or cranberries if using.
  5. Pour the chocolate mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it into an even layer, about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Sprinkle a little extra sea salt on top if desired.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate is fully set.
  8. Once set, break the bark into pieces and serve.

Notes

  • For a sweeter bark, use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate.
  • Experiment with different spices like nutmeg or cardamom for a unique flavor twist.
