Description

Delicious cheddar stuffed meatballs baked in marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Take a small amount of the meat mixture (about 2 tablespoons) and flatten it in your palm.
  4. Place a cube of cheddar cheese in the center and wrap the meat around the cheese, forming a ball.
  5. Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and cheese cubes.
  6. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  7. Add the meatballs and cook for about 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides.
  8. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs in the skillet.
  9. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the cheese is melted.
  10. Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
  • You can also substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
