Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz wheel of Camembert cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 French baguette, sliced for serving
- Optional: honey or fig jam for drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the Camembert from its packaging and place it in a small, oven-safe dish or keep it in its wooden box if it’s safe for baking.
- Using a sharp knife, make a few shallow cuts on the top of the cheese in a crisscross pattern.
- Insert the sliced garlic into the cuts on the cheese.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the cheese and sprinkle with the chopped rosemary and thyme. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is soft and gooey.
- While the cheese is baking, toast the sliced baguette in the oven for the last 5 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove the cheese from the oven and let it cool for a minute before serving. Drizzle with honey or fig jam if desired.
- Serve the warm, baked Camembert with the toasted baguette slices for dipping.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, add a sprinkle of smoked paprika before baking.
- Try serving with fresh fruits like apple slices or grapes for a refreshing contrast.
