Description
Bacon-Wrapped Cream Cheese Jalapeños are a delicious appetizer that combines the heat of jalapeños with the creamy richness of cheese and the savory flavor of bacon.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 large jalapeño peppers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 16 slices of bacon
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
- Slice each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes for less heat (or leave some for extra spice).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Using a spoon or a piping bag, fill each jalapeño half with the cream cheese mixture.
- Cut each slice of bacon in half. Wrap each filled jalapeño half with a piece of bacon, securing it with a toothpick if necessary.
- Place the wrapped jalapeños on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are not touching each other.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the jalapeños are tender.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, leave some seeds in the jalapeños or add diced fresh jalapeños to the cream cheese mixture.
- Try using different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or feta, for a unique flavor twist.
